Dagestan’s Anti-war Resident Detained in Moscow

In the capital airport «Sheremetyevo» when trying to fly abroad siloviki detained resident Derbent Ulker Hashimova. Earlier, she spoke in support of Ukraine and the independence of the peoples of the Russian Federation. In Derbent, the place of residence of the girl’s mother was also searched.

According to «Free Eurasia» channel author Anton Kolomitsyn, who lives in the Netherlands, where Ulker also wanted to fly, the official reason for the detention is still unknown, but most likely these are the political statements of the girl. The activist noted that she was probably placed in the pre-trial detention center «Lefortovo».

The Anna Politkovskaya Award has this year been given to 11 Russian and five Ukrainian female journalists who are imprisoned in Russia and in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

 

According to the award’s founder, the international organisation RAW in WAR (Reach All Women in WAR), the nominations committee praised the “courage and integrity” of the laureates, who “risk their freedom and even their lives to report on the war and speak out against human rights violations, war crimes and the escalating repression of journalists, human rights defenders and anti-war activists in Russia”.
