Over 3,000 Russians acquired Georgian citizenship in a year
In 2022, 3,300 Russians took Georgian citizenship. In addition, only in March this year, 421 Russian citizens received the relevant document. This was reported in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic.
Thanks to the emigration of a large number of Russian citizens due to disagreement with Moscow’s policy and unwillingness to mobilize for the war with Ukraine, the demand for housing in Georgia increased 4.5 times. Experts attribute this to low property prices and generally low cost of living in the country.
