An Anapa resident arrested for throwing a pig's head near a mosque in Adygea

A 43-year-old Anapa resident has been remanded in custody by the Takhtamukaysky District Court of Adygea for two months on charges of publicly insulting the feelings of believers (Part 2 of Article 148 of the Russian Criminal Code). According to investigators, on the night of September 14, he threw a pig's head onto the grounds of a mosque in the village of Kozet.

This charge carries a penalty of up to three years in prison or forced labor.

As a reminder, an incident occurred on September 14 in the village of Kozet in the Takhtamukaysky District of Adygea: an unknown individual placed a pig's head on the fence of a local mosque and recorded it on video. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Adygea and Krasnodar Krai declared the incident provocative and contacted law enforcement.
