Georgian authorities have denied international protection to 17 Ukrainian citizens who have spent nearly a year in the basement of the Dariali border crossing point (Upper Lars) on the Georgia–Russia border. Once the decisions take legal effect, they could be deported at any moment.
A resident of the KBR was accused of treason for trying to leave for Ukraine
Against a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, 35-year-old Erik Kanokov, a criminal case was opened on treason. According to investigators, he planned to leave for Ukraine and fight in the combat unit "Muslim Corps - Caucasus" as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Investigators claim that Konokov sharply criticized SVO and contacted a representative of the aforementioned unit. On March 12, he bought tickets for the Moscow-Minsk train. Through Belarus, the man planned to get to Ukraine and join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, he was detained by Russian security forces.
