"Know the Traitor"

The actions of the Azerbaijani military were condemned not only in the USA, Tehran and Europe, but also in Azerbaijan itself. We are talking about opposition politicians, journalists, and activists.
Thus, political emigrant Afgan Mukhtarly compared the actions of Azerbaijan with Russian aggression in Ukraine. “The Azerbaijani side openly declares its intention to seize the territory of another state,” he said. - I believe that Azerbaijan should not participate in any military operations outside its own borders... There is international law, countries have borders, they are recognized by other states. I am against our troops being in Zangezur (Syunik region in Armenia) and our soldiers dying there.”
The leader of the opposition Popular Front party, Ali Karimli, noted that if previously Armenia was considered an outpost of Russia, now Aliyev’s demarches have led to Azerbaijan getting into “Putin’s sinking boat.”
Activists of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, in response to this criticism, launched the “Know the Traitor” campaign on social networks. Under this hashtag they publish portraits of oppositionists opposing the shelling of Armenia. Yet this military campaign did not become popular in Azerbaijan.
