The investigation into the death of Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava in Tbilisi continues. Three people have been detained in connection with the case: a Ukrainian citizen charged with abandoning a person in danger, and two suspects in the illegal acquisition and possession of drugs.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction or interception of 239 Ukrainian drones on the night of August 31. The attack, which affected several Russian regions, particularly the south of the country – the Rostov Region, Krasnodar Krai, Russian-controlled Crimea, and the Black Sea.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has revoked the Russian citizenship of eight people whom the agency considers a threat to national security. They include residents of Adygea and Stavropol Region, as well as two people from the South Caucasus. In a statement published on August 29, the FSB said the decisions were made jointly with the Interior Ministry under the law “On Citizenship of the Russian Federation.”

Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia - Lelo opposition coalition, stated that the country's authorities must respond to the possible increase in the number of Russian citizens crossing into Georgia through the Upper Lars checkpoint. According to him, "tens of thousands of Russians have flocked" to the border in search of "new refuge," including amid reports of a possible mobilization in Russia.

On the night of August 30, Ukrainian drones attacked several regions of Russia. One of the targets, according to monitoring resources and satellite imagery published online, was a military airfield in Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the spring floods, which caused widespread destruction in Dagestan, are still underway. Nearly five months after the disaster, the authorities said that one-off payments had been approved for 85,000 residents. According to their figures, the total amount paid has exceeded 3.26 billion roubles. At the same time, the republic has begun issuing housing certificates to people whose homes were completely destroyed or seriously damaged. The first 68 certificates were received by residents of the Khasavyurt and Derbent districts.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described as “provocative” remarks by Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan about Yerevan’s readiness to accept Russians who may want to leave Russia in the event of a new mobilization. In her view, the Armenian official’s statement “encourages Russian citizens to engage in unlawful actions” and gives traditional Armenian hospitality a “toxic political coloring.”

On the night of August 29, the Rostov region came under a massive drone attack. According to Governor Yury Slyusar, seven people were injured, including two children. In Aksay, an Ozon logistics center and a DNS warehouse were hit. Ozon confirmed that one of its logistics centers in the Rostov region had come under a drone attack. Employees had been evacuated in advance, so none of them were injured.

Armenia plans to begin regular shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables to the United Arab Emirates in September. At the initial stage, export volumes could reach up to 40 tonnes a week. Armenia’s Economy Ministry announced this on August 27 following a meeting between Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan and Omar Mohammad Hamdan Abdullah Al Shamsi, the founder and CEO of UAE-based company Watermelon Ecosystem.
