The United States has imposed sanctions on yet another number of representatives of Russian business and industry. The list included the son-in-law and nephew of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, First Deputy Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Salman Zakriev and his son Ibrahim (Yakub), who recently headed the nationalized Danone Russia company.

Participants in anti-Semitic riots at Makhachkala airport will be equal before the law: only those who encroached on the lives of police officers and organized pogroms will be punished. This was stated by the head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov, responding to a statement by former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In January–September 2023, four regions of the North Caucasian Federal District showed an increase in serious and especially serious crimes. The Armenian Foreign Ministry has published final data on the number of victims of Azerbaijan's military attack on Nagorno-Karabakh. More than 200 people were killed during the fighting, including 9 civilians (including 3 children). More than 300 people were injured, including 231 military and 80 civilians.

A demonstration in support of Palestine took place in the city of Marneuli in southern Georgia. About 100 participants held Palestinian flags and recited prayers. As the akhund (head of the Muslim clergy) of the Marneuli Red Mosque Gadzhi Gadzhiev noted, people gathered in order to “raise their voices against the Zionist Israeli regime” and against the torture of the “oppressed Palestinian population.”

The Presidium of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation condemned anti-Semitic incidents in Dagestan. Muslim leaders emphasize that attempts to turn political conflicts into an interreligious war must not be allowed.

The riots at the Makhachkala airport were operated from the territory of Ukraine, said the head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov.

The Federal Air Transport Agency announced that due to the entry of unknown persons onto the apron of the Makhachkala airport, a decision was made to temporarily close it. The planes that were supposed to land in Makhachkala were redirected to alternate airfields - in Sochi, Kavminvody and Moscow.
