The German authorities granted political asylum to a native of Chechnya, Mokhammad Abdurakhmanov. He is a human rights activist and the brother of opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov. Mohammad was previously denied refugee status twice. He thanked Germany for the assistance provided.

Lawyers of the “Team Against Torture” filed a statement with the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow regarding illegal actions of police officers. They insulted Tamerlan Marzoev, a native of North Ossetia living in Moscow, because of his nationality, beat him in front of his pregnant wife and forced him to do squats naked.

The courts of Dagestan arrested eight participants in the pogrom at Makhachkala airport for eight days. All punishments were imposed under the article on “obstructing transport infrastructure” during an uncoordinated rally (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). Two more participants were assigned 60 hours of compulsory work due to “health conditions” under the same article.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, gave advice to local security forces on how to deal with the instigators of unrest. “If we have even one person going to unsanctioned riots, detain and imprison him. Or fire three warning shots in the air and after that, if the person does not comply with the law, fire the fourth shot in the forehead. They won't come out anymore. This is my order,” Kadyrov told the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard at a meeting in the government of the republic.
