Activist from North Ossetia Vadim Cheldiev is regularly kept in solitary confinement
Political prisoner from North Ossetia, activist, opera singer Vadim Cheldiev, who was sentenced to 10 years, is regularly placed in solitary confinement. This was reported by the representative of the public organization "Mothers of Beslan" Aneta Gadieva.

"Vadim needs urgent help. He was accused of 144 violations (we, naturally, believe that they have no basis) and kept in solitary confinement for three months. Then, after his mother complained, authorized representatives were allowed in, released for several days, and now he is back in solitary confinement. He has serious problems with his teeth," Gadieva said.

The ECHR recently ordered that Vadim Cheldiev be paid 6 thousand euros. In July 2022, he was sentenced to 10 years, found guilty of organizing mass riots. He was detained in April 2020 after posting on social media against coronavirus restrictions. According to investigators, Cheldiev called on residents of Vladikavkaz to come to a public gathering and protest against the introduction of the self-isolation regime. Participants in the rally on April 20, 2020, demanded the lifting of COVID restrictions and the resignation of the authorities due to growing unemployment and lack of money.
