European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the Georgian government's current policies are not aligned with the European Union's direction. Arriving at the EU summit in Brussels, she emphasized the EU's support for the Georgian people but expressed disagreement with the Georgian government's actions. Kallas stated that the country's leadership is leading Georgia "in the wrong direction," which is hindering the process of European integration.
Armenia has signed defense contracts with India and France worth $1.5 billion and $250 million, respectively.
India will supply Pinaka multiple launch rocket systems, Konkurs anti-tank systems, ATAGS howitzers, ZADS anti-drone systems, and Akash 1S air defense systems. In addition, a contract was signed for the purchase of MR-SAM missiles and Akash-NG22 medium-range air defense systems.
Armenia purchased Bastion armored vehicles, Mistral 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, and other military equipment from France. In 2024, the countries also signed contracts for the import of PGM assault rifles and Caesar self-propelled howitzers.
As for cooperation between Armenia and the Russian Federation in the field of armaments, they concluded the last deal in 2021, and its conditions have not yet been fulfilled. Since then, Yerevan has refused to purchase these products from Moscow. Russia’s share in the structure of arms and military equipment supplies to Armenia has fallen from the previous 96% to less than 10%.
