Armenia accused Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing in Karabakh

Azerbaijani authorities are carrying out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, erasing all traces of the presence of Armenians, including cultural and religious heritage. They did nothing for the safe return of Armenians to Karabakh. This was stated during the hearings in The Hague by the representative of Armenia at the International Court of Justice Yeghishe Kirakosyan.

Kirakosyan recalled that a lawsuit was filed in court to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination. The complaint is related to the policy of xenophobia and Armenophobia pursued by Baku for decades. At the same time, the issue of Yerevan refusing claims against Baku was not discussed. Earlier, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan said that if Azerbaijan refuses legal complaints against Armenia, then the latter can do the same.

Hearings also began on the proceedings between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Berne Convention on Wildlife Protection. Yerevan accused Baku of harming the Karabakh ecology. The flora and fauna are under threat due to incessant demolition and construction activities.
