Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the European Commission has been provided with complete and reliable information on the activities of the Kulevi port, confirming compliance with the sanctions regime. The statement came amid discussions of the 20th EU sanctions package against Russia, which, according to media reports, may include the Georgian port.
The Russian Ambassador to Armenia has been summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry. The agency expressed strong dissatisfaction with the involvement of the Russian military contingent in Karabakh in the incident at the Lachin border checkpoint.
On June 15, the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire on border guards planting the Azerbaijani flag at the border checkpoint on the Lachin road. They were accompanied by peacekeepers from the Russian Federation.
The Armenian government will also submit the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for parliamentary ratification. If approved, Armenia will become the second country in the South Caucasus where Russian President Putin will have to be arrested upon his entry. Georgia was the first to recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC.
