Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze criticized Brussels' demands to join sanctions against Russia. He said these calls were inappropriate, given that the EU itself is a major importer of Russian products.
Armenia supported the UN resolution accusing Russia of military aggression against Ukraine and Georgia. The document also mentions the work on "creating a special tribunal for the crime of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine."
105 countries voted for the adoption of the document entitled "Cooperation between the UN and the Council of Europe", and 9 voted against it. Among the latter - the Russian Federation, the USA, Congo, Sudan, Belarus, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger and Eritrea. China and Iran abstained, Azerbaijan and Israel did not participate in the vote.
Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasyl Nebenzya said that a ceasefire in Ukraine at the current stage is unrealistic. He accused Kyiv of not complying with the terms of the truce in terms of not striking Russian energy facilities. The diplomat also noted that the West has not expressed readiness to put pressure on Ukraine on this issue, and promised to convey Moscow's position.
