Most families in the North Caucasian Federal District are unable to rent housing

Kabardino-Balkaria took last, 85th place among all regions of the Russian Federation in terms of affordability of renting a two-room apartment for families with two children. In the republic, 13% of families can afford this, RIA Novosti reported.

Dagestan with an indicator of 15.8% occupies 84th place, Ingushetia is in 83rd place (16.8%), Karachay-Cherkessia is in 82nd place (19.3%), Chechnya is in 81st place (21. 2%), in 79th place is North Ossetia (23.3%). The Stavropol Territory is in 61st place in the ranking (42.4%).

The leaders in terms of rental affordability are the Kemerovo region (70.2%), St. Petersburg (68.3%) and Tatarstan (65.8%).

Experts determined the affordability of rental housing in Russian regions by the share of families who can rent a standard two-room apartment. It is assumed that the family consists of two adults and two children. 70% of the funds remaining after subsistence minimums are deducted from the family budget are spent on rent, and 30% on other expenses.
