Chechnya is recognized as the leader in the lowest number of road accidents

According to statistics for the first half of 2025, the region of the Russian Federation with the safest roads is Chechnya. It has the lowest accident rate: 13.9 accidents with casualties per 100 thousand vehicles, which is eight times lower than the Russian average.

The top five regions with the lowest accident rate also include Tomsk Oblast, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Sverdlovsk and Moscow Oblasts (less than 50 accidents per 100 thousand vehicles).

The most dangerous roads were in Tuva and Kostroma Oblast (379.6 and 217.8 accidents per 100 thousand vehicles, respectively).

In Russia as a whole, 75.5 thousand people were injured in road accidents in the first half of 2025 (51.7 per 100 thousand population). In 31 regions this figure is below the Russian average.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has made public the peace treaty initialed with Armenia. The document, consisting of 17 articles, was published on the website of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. In it, the parties officially renounce territorial claims, the right to use force, and the deployment of third countries along the common border. At the same time, delimitation of the border is envisaged on the basis of a separate agreement.
