An international conference entitled "The Circassian Genocide in the Context of History and Contemporary Politics" was held in the Seimas of Lithuania, organized by the United Circassian Council.
Georgia will recount ballots at five polling stations in each district to verify the data, the country's Central Election Commission reported.
According to the Central Election Commission, the ruling Georgian Dream party won the parliamentary elections in Georgia held on October 26. It received 53.9%. Four opposition parties also overcame the five percent barrier.
Earlier, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said that the election results were falsified. She also noted that the "Armenian carousel" was used for this (when the same people vote several times at different polling stations). Then she corrected herself, saying that perhaps in Armenia it is called a "Georgian carousel". Zurabishvili added that there were other violations, including intimidation, pressure on people who depend on public service, or on socially vulnerable people.
Hungary, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey congratulated the Georgian Dream party on its victory in the elections. European and American partners are calling on the government to investigate possible violations of the voting procedure.
