During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
Galuzin: US and EU are putting Tbilisi in front of a false choice
The West is "shamelessly" interfering in Georgia's internal affairs, trying to change the sovereign choice of the Georgian people and the authorities they elected, made in favor of peace and prosperity for the country. This opinion was voiced by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin. At the same time, he noted that Tbilisi is not going to restore diplomatic relations with Moscow.
"The US and EU have decided to demonstratively punish a country that suddenly dared to play by its own rules, and not those imposed on it... They are ultimatumingly putting Tbilisi in front of a false choice: either with the West or with Moscow," Galuzin said.
According to him, Georgia was being pushed into an adventure with the opening of a "second front" against Russia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze recently told Euronews that he sees no possibility of restoring diplomatic relations with Russia due to the “occupation of two historical regions – South Ossetia and Abkhazia.” He emphasized that these territories were recognized as independent by Russia after the military conflict in 2008, which contradicts international law and Georgia’s sovereignty. Kobakhidze also noted that Georgia can become a full member of the European Union without sacrificing its core national interests.
