Magomed-Amin Gatagazhev, a native of Ingushetia, was released after eight months in a Croatian immigration prison. Russian authorities had requested his extradition. The refugee was accepted by the neighboring republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Let's figure it out. He instructed the competent services to make every effort to identify the attackers. The authorities started working immediately after the news of the incident,” the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, spoke briefly and without judgment about today’s attack and severe beating in the Chechen capital of Novaya Gazeta journalist Elena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov.
