Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation spoke negatively about the invasion of security forces in mosques near Moscow

The Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti Ravil Gainutdin sent a letter to the head of the Presidential Administration of Russia about the recent blasphemous actions of the security forces in mosques in the cities of Kotelniki and Dzerzhinsky near Moscow. “As in any religious tradition, the trampling of the sacred in Islam is an unacceptable action that provokes believers to respond. Incidents with intrusions of OMON officers into prayer rooms during cathedral Friday prayers do nothing to pacify the situation in the multi-religious Russian society, and nationalist organizations become their beneficiaries,” said Mufti Gainutdin.

Recall that lately the security forces twice broke into the mosques of the cities of Kotelniki and Dzerzhinsky in shoes. This happened during prayer. Those who came behaved rudely and insulted the parishioners. According to lawyers, in these actions there are signs of a crime under Art. 148 of the Criminal Code (illegal obstruction of the activities of religious organizations or the conduct of worship), as well as Art. 286 (abuse of office).
