During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
According to the security forces, while in the unrecognized republic, the man publicly justified terrorist activity in his Telegram channel, namely, "glorified the images of the leaders of illegal armed groups on the territory of the Chechen Republic." Among the latter is the Chechen field commander Shamil Basayev.
Recall that Shamil Basayev was an active participant in the Georgian-Abkhazian war (1992-1993), the commander of a detachment of Chechen volunteers. He held the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Abkhazia. For special services, the President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba awarded him the "Hero of Abkhazia" medal. Later, Basayev became one of the leaders of the armed struggle for the independence of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria from the Russian Federation.
