Ingushetia and other regions of the North Caucasus have the lowest personal income levels in Russia. In the RIA Novosti rating, Ingushetia ranked 85th, with a per capita income to cost ratio of 1.20 and a per capita income of 26,800 rubles per month, the lowest in the country.
The capital of Chechnya, Grozny, became the best Russian city in terms of quality of life in 2024. This is stated in a study by sociologists from a university under the government of the Russian Federation.
“The cities with the highest quality of life in the first quarter of 2024 were Grozny, Moscow, Sochi, Kaluga, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Novorossiysk, Yekaterinburg. A high quality of life is associated with a sufficient level of material well-being, effective medicine and access to education,” said Alexey Zubets, director of the Institute of Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
The outsiders included Yakutsk, Chita, Voronezh, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Orenburg, Kursk, Kirov, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Saratov, Orel and other cities.
At the same time, the republics of the North Caucasus have the highest unemployment rates and the lowest wages. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in Ingushetia – 27.4%. In Dagestan there are 12.5% of the unemployed, in Chechnya - 10.4%.
