The Georgian National Legion was added to the list of terrorist organizations. This decision was made by the Southern District Military Court of the Russian Federation.
“The formation was created in 2014 under the patronage of Ukrainian military intelligence. Members of the legion participate in hostilities on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and are involved in organizing terrorist attacks in Russia,” the FSB said.
During the SVO, about 70 members of the organization died. Earlier, the Georgian Legion welcomed Georgia's receipt of candidate status for EU membership. This was reported by unit commander Mamuka Mamulashvili.
