Kadyrov refused to meet with Chechen prisoners, suspecting them of cowardice

On the eve of the next exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine. Five Chechen soldiers returned to Grozny. The head of Chechnya, Kadyrov, refused to meet with them, expressing doubts about their honour.

I believe that the Chechen soldier should have no reason to be taken prisoner. There may be different excuses, but whatever it is, a warrior has to prove that he had no other choice. And it is necessary to prove this by returning to the front line. Therefore, I did not meet with the returned», - said Kadyrov.
He called upon the prisoners to prove that they had not avoided the fight, were not afraid to face the enemy, and had not sought to lay down their arms. According to Kadyrov, the boys have a chance to prove to themselves, to their combat comrades and to the whole country that they were taken by force.
