Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that during the 44-day war in Karabakh, an information campaign was launched against Azerbaijan with the aim of accusing Ankara of supporting Baku. He emphasized that these accusations relied on the rhetoric of Ankara's opponents and spread false information about Turkish arms supplies to Azerbaijan.
Turkic Council leaders signed the Gabala Declaration in Azerbaijan
The summit of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Gabala, Azerbaijan. Following the meeting, the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan signed the Gabala Declaration.
In the document, the countries expressed support for the development of the Zangezur Corridor. The declaration envisages the opening of communication channels between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via Armenia, which will help realize the region's transit potential.
The summit participants also reaffirmed their commitment to the use of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway and emphasized the importance of the Trans-Caspian East–West–Central Asia route for strengthening ties between Europe and Asia.
