Moscow on US Activity in the Caucasus: Armenia and Azerbaijan Are Free, but Russia Has Its Own Advantages

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan, as sovereign states, are free to build relations with any country, including the United States. This statement came in response to US Vice President J.D. Vance's visits to Baku and Yerevan.

Peskov emphasized that Russia has its own mutually beneficial relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will continue to develop. He described a "vast array of bilateral relations" encompassing trade and economic cooperation, mutual investment, and cultural ties.

Commenting on Vance's visit to Yerevan, Peskov expressed confidence in Russia's continued cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. He emphasized the Eurasian Union's clear role in supporting Armenia's rapid economic development.

Regarding Armenia's nuclear agreement with Washington, Peskov stated that Russia's expertise and pricing policy in this area are more advantageous than those of the United States. He noted that Russia possesses greater expertise and offers lower costs for services in the civilian nuclear energy sector.
