Moscow restricts imports from Azerbaijan and threatens Armenia with sanctions

As of July 11, Rosselkhoznadzor has banned the import of dairy products from Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation. This concerns products manufactured by ALLBUY and MILK PRODUCTS.

The statement by the Russian agency notes that such a decision was made "based on the refusal of the Azerbaijani side to allow the Russian service to inspect the said manufacturers." At the same time, the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency stated that both companies are not interested in further supplies of their products to Russia.

In addition, the Russian authorities have made claims against Armenia and threatened economic sanctions. The conversation between Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Armenian Ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan "was not very pleasant" the day before, the Armenian newspaper Hraparak writes, citing diplomatic sources. The ambassador was instructed to convey to the Armenian authorities that if they comply with the West's demand to exclude Russian state television channels from public broadcasting, they could face "unpleasant surprises", in particular, in the form of economic sanctions.

Russia's relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia have seriously deteriorated. With the first country - after the downing of an Azerbaijani airline AZAL passenger plane in Russian skies and a raid by security forces in Yekaterinburg, which resulted in the deaths of two ethnic Azerbaijanis. As for Armenia, it has stopped participating in CSTO events and has repeatedly spoken out about stopping the broadcasting of Russian television channels on its territory.

His family explained that this decision stemmed from the fact that, in their view, the trial was a "staged performance" rather than a proper trial: the hearings were held behind closed doors, without access to independent observers, and the prosecution's motions were ignored. The full text of the verdict was also not released.
