Overdue mortgage debt has increased sharply in the North Caucasus

By the end of May 2025, the volume of overdue mortgage payments in Ingushetia has increased more than threefold - from 134 to 422 million rubles. The indicator has almost doubled in North Ossetia: the outstanding debts of local residents have reached 1.8 billion rubles.

In Dagestan, overdue mortgage payments have increased from 1.4 billion to 3.7 billion. This region is the leader in terms of debt in the North Caucasus Federal District.

The negative indicator has more than doubled in Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia - to 1.2 billion, 679 million and 682 million rubles, respectively. In Chechnya, by May, overdue debt has already reached 1.2 billion rubles.

Failure of the borrower to fulfill obligations under the loan agreement with the bank entails consequences. In addition to mandatory payments, penalties and fines may be imposed on him, and his credit history will deteriorate.
