Opposition Telegram channel reports mass detention of Chechen residents
In the city of Sernovodskoye, located approximately 50 kilometers west of Grozny, police officers kidnapped about 60 people, almost half of whom were young girls. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Chechen opposition movement NIYSO.

According to the source, people are being held in the Sernovodsk District Department of Internal Affairs. The reasons are unknown. According to local residents, this is connected with a certain WhatsApp group, which included some of the kidnapped people.

“This is the most mass kidnapping in Chechnya in recent months,” NIYSO noted.

Earlier it was reported that in early January in Chechnya, 19-year-old Viskhan Tazurkayev from the city of Argun died after being kidnapped and tortured in a police station.
