Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that during the 44-day war in Karabakh, an information campaign was launched against Azerbaijan with the aim of accusing Ankara of supporting Baku. He emphasized that these accusations relied on the rhetoric of Ankara's opponents and spread false information about Turkish arms supplies to Azerbaijan.
Against the backdrop of the conflict in the border village of Bazorkino (Chermen), the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika held separate talks with the heads of Ingushetia and North Ossetia — Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov and Sergei Menyailo.
The online meeting discussed issues of interethnic and interfaith harmony, cultural ties and public safety. Chaika called for the consolidation of efforts to strengthen civil unity.
Recall that on August 24, in the area of the Chermensky outpost dividing Ingushetia and North Ossetia, a mass brawl between residents of the two republics occurred. According to preliminary data, the conflict was caused by a domestic dispute. After the incident, Menyailo proposed blocking the entrances to the republic in the event of interethnic conflicts and accused "hotheads" from both regions of provocations. Subsequently, several participants in the conflict were detained.
