The Makhachkala multi-storey building damaged by the explosion was built illegally

The multi-storey building on Gappakhskaya Street, 14 in Makhachkala, where the gas explosion occurred, was built without permission. Instead of the 14 existing floors, according to the design documentation, there should have been 9. In addition, the building was unauthorizedly connected to the gas network.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the explosion occurred in an apartment on the seventh floor. As a result of the incident, two people were injured. 150 people were evacuated from the apartments. They will be placed in a temporary accommodation center in the Makhachkala administration. Windows in five neighboring multi-storey buildings and 50 cars parked in the yard were partially damaged.

It is noteworthy that apartments in the damaged building continue to be sold. The price varies from 4.8 million rubles for a one-room apartment to 12 million for a three-room apartment.
