Georgian Prime Minister Calls on Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Reconcile and Return to the Country
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. He called for the restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity "through mutual forgiveness and mutual reconciliation" with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
He noted that Georgia's desire to become a full member of the EU can be realized by 2030. Since 2021, the average annual economic growth in the country has been 9.7%, and the inflation rate is one of the lowest in the region, indicating economic stability.
In addition, Georgia welcomes the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Kobakhidze noted.
"We are ready to offer a regional cooperation format that will promote dialogue and build trust between states to ensure that disagreements remain in the past," the Prime Minister said.
