Azerbaijan's President Discusses Cooperation with Europe and Iran

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the country has stopped responding to criticism from the European Parliament, and that cooperation with the organization has been suspended for many years. In an interview with Euronews, he attributed this to the European Parliament's "biased attitude," which he believes is the result of lobbying groups.

At the same time, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is pleased with its cooperation with the European Commission. He also expressed concern about "some destabilization" in Iran, emphasizing the importance of stability and security in the region.

"We are concerned about some destabilization in Iran. For us, stability, predictability, and peace in the region are our greatest asset. We have suffered from occupation and war, with thousands of casualties. Therefore, stability and security are the only path to success for every country today... As for Azerbaijan, we have no potential risks within the country. All potential risks may come from outside," the head of state said.

Aliyev also noted that Azerbaijan is the only country in the South Caucasus that exports energy resources and supplies gas to 16 countries, 10 of which are EU members.
