President of Georgia accuses government of deviating from European policy

The ruling party «Georgian Dream» and the government formed by it by its incomprehensible steps opposes the external goal of the country and the will of the people. The main goal of the Georgian authorities is not to irritate Moscow. This was stated by President Salome Zurabishvili in his annual report to Parliament.

In addition, the President accused the «Georgian Dream» of strengthening the one-party system. According to her, the adopted laws, changes in the principle of appointment of judges and the draft law «on foreign agents» serve not to strengthen democracy and well-being of citizens, but to strengthen and prolong power.
Statements by the Prime Minister of Georgia and his party that the West is pushing Tbilisi to open a "second front" against Russia - conspiracy theory. The Georgian people are well aware that the idea of the European Union serves peace, not war. The European Union in Georgia directly serves the peace of our country through EU observation mission and peaceful development», Zurabishvili said.

Recall that in Georgia all power is practically concentrated in the hands of the government and the ruling party. The office of the president does not give much power.
