The Ukrainian President stated that Georgia is "largely lost to Europe"

Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy compared the situations in Moldova and Georgia. Noting the success of pro-European forces in the parliamentary elections in Moldova as evidence of the failure of Russian destabilization attempts, he expressed concern about Georgia's future.

According to him, Georgia is "largely lost to Europe," although there is hope for its possible return to the European path. Zelenskyy emphasized that Europe should not ignore what is happening in Georgia and Belarus.

Earlier, Tbilisi criticized Zelenskyy for his speech at the UN General Assembly, where he called for Moldova to be protected from Russian interference, citing Georgia as an example of a country that was not provided assistance in 2008.

"We have already lost Georgia in Europe. Human rights and the European character of the state system there are only declining," the Ukrainian leader noted at the time.

Parliamentary elections were held in Moldova the day before. The pro-European Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) won 50.2% of the vote, while the Patriotic Bloc (pro-Russian) received only 24.1%.

Billionaire and former Nagorno-Karabakh state minister Ruben Vardanyan, sentenced in Baku to 20 years in prison, rejected the legal force of the ruling and dropped his appeal. His family explained that this decision stemmed from the fact that, in their view, the trial was a "staged performance" rather than a proper trial: the hearings were held behind closed doors, without access to independent observers, and the prosecution's motions were ignored. The full text of the verdict was also not released.
