Previously tortured native of Chechnya came from the UK and was again kidnapped by security forces

Magomed Abubakarov, a native of Chechnya, a political refugee and a British citizen, came to Urus-Martan to visit his mother. On the night of June 1, he was abducted from his house by armed men who identified themselves as employees of the Kurchaloy District Department of Internal Affairs. Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown.

According to a relative of Abubakarov, the police do not explain anything, and a lawyer is not allowed to see him.

Recall that before leaving for the UK, he was tortured, and later was sentenced to 1.3 years in prison on charges of assisting illegal armed formations. In 2013, Magomed was able to leave Russia.

Abubakarov's relatives appealed to the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office, in addition, they notified the British Foreign Office.
