The lowest teacher salaries are recorded in Ingushetia and Chechnya

The real salary of a teacher in Ingushetia and Chechnya in 2023 was 1.5 and 1.7 subsistence minimums (PM). These are the lowest figures in the country, reports Ravenstvo. Media.

The highest salaries for teachers are in the capital and oil and gas regions (3.9-4.9 PM), and the lowest in schools in Ivanovo, Crimea, Pskov and the North Caucasus (1.5-2.0 PM).

The average salary of a teacher in Russia reached 48 thousand rubles in 2023, which corresponded to 3.1 subsistence minimums for workers (15,569 rubles). In 2024, the salary increased by 4% to 3.2 PM. This only allowed the level to return to 2013, when the figure also reached 3.2 PM and then fell.

In addition, 70% of teachers noted a sharp increase in workload. For 44% of respondents, the schedule does not allow them to engage in professional development, and 67% of teachers have less time for their families.
