Media: Kadyrov's relations with the Kremlin have worsened

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and his entourage have been holding talks with representatives of Middle Eastern monarchies in recent months. They are unofficial and not coordinated with the Kremlin. Because of this, Kadyrov's relations with Putin have worsened, Vazhnye Istorii reports.

According to the FSB data provided to the Russian president, the head of Chechnya and his entourage are discussing the future of their business assets, property, and relatives with representatives of the Persian monarchies.

Vazhye Istorii writes that Kadyrov has serious problems with his kidneys and pancreas. He has become less able to speak and is increasingly disappearing from the media. His closest associate, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, has also significantly reduced his activity.

"Since the beginning of 2025, Adam Delimkhanov has categorically refused to participate in any power showdowns, no matter what the amount at stake. He tells the chosen ones who can directly contact Delimkhanov that “strict orders have been received from the very top” that Chechen leaders and security forces should not be involved in any such stories and should generally “show up” as little as possible,” the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel wrote earlier. Sources of “Important Stories” confirm this information.

According to a Chechen political scientist who wished to remain anonymous, the above information about the alleged discord between the head of Chechnya and the Kremlin raises serious doubts.

"Various publications regularly publish such assumptions, but there are no objective prerequisites or external indicators to confirm them," our interlocutor explains.

Firstly, in his opinion, Kadyrov is already an experienced and seasoned politician who "over 20 years of his exclusive relations with the President of Russia has learned the rules of the game too well to allow any mistake that could harm him."

Secondly, the expert notes that the publication in its publication equates the attitude of the FSB and President Putin towards Ramzan Kadyrov, "which is absolutely forbidden."

“Those who are more or less familiar with modern Chechen realities remember the history of confrontation and even periodic open conflicts between the FSB and the head of Chechnya, but this circumstance has not prevented Kadyrov from having Putin’s support and strengthening his own power over all these years,” the political scientist recalls.

Billionaire and former Nagorno-Karabakh state minister Ruben Vardanyan, sentenced in Baku to 20 years in prison, rejected the legal force of the ruling and dropped his appeal. His family explained that this decision stemmed from the fact that, in their view, the trial was a "staged performance" rather than a proper trial: the hearings were held behind closed doors, without access to independent observers, and the prosecution's motions were ignored. The full text of the verdict was also not released.

Chechnya Leads in Lowest Alcohol Sales

In 2025, residents of the North Caucasus regions consumed the least amount of hard liquor in Russia. The lowest official retail sales figures were recorded in Chechnya (0.01 liters per capita). Other republics of the North Caucasus Federal District also demonstrated modest figures: Ingushetia - 0.7 liters, Dagestan - 2.2 liters, Kabardino-Balkaria - 2.6 liters, North Ossetia - 3 liters, and Karachay-Cherkessia - 3.4 liters. Experts attribute this decline to the prevalence of cultural and religious restrictions, as well as a preference for low-alcohol beverages.
