The capitals of Chechnya and Dagestan are among the leaders in terms of quality of life

Grozny and Makhachkala were in the top 25 Russian cities with a population of over 250,000 in terms of quality of life. In the ranking of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the capital of Chechnya took 6th place, the capital of Dagestan - 16th. Vladikavkaz was in 24th position.

The study notes that low housing affordability is the most significant problem that reduces the quality of life in the capitals of the North Caucasus Federal District. The top five included Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol and Krasnodar.

The life quality index was calculated based on the dynamics of public opinion on such indicators as consumer activity, the quality of medical care, the availability of housing, the state of the ecological environment, the quality of work of institutions of higher and secondary education, the work of housing and communal services, the state of the road sector, interest in cultural values, conditions doing business, the level of anxiety and fears of the population, protest activity.
