The Court refuses to mitigate the measure of restraint to the unlawfully accused native of Chechnya

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Court regularly rejects applications by the defence to transfer Apti Visaev, a native of Chechnya, from the pre-trial detention facility to house arrest. This was reported by his wife Aisha Mutaeva. According to the woman, the consideration of the Visaev case was transferred to the 1st Khabarovsk District Military Court. This will make it more difficult for the family to pay for the lawyers' tickets.

Since December 21, Visayev has been detained without explanation in the special unit of the Krasnoyarsk remand centre. The pressure on the man is initiated by the investigation to get him to self-incriminate, as Aisha Mutaeva reported.

Apti Visaev was detained in May 2021. He is accused of planning an explosion in Norilsk on the day of celebration of Victory Day. He later revealed the identity of a secret witness who perjured himself because of the pressure of the security forces. This witness, Ibrahim Gazarchiev, had previously fled Russia.
