Abkhazia has announced a shortage of money for security forces and public sector employees due to Russia's cessation of funding
The authorities of Abkhazia have announced a shortage of money for salaries after the suspension of funding from the Russian Federation. There are not enough funds even to pay salaries to public sector employees and security forces.

According to Acting Finance Minister Vladimir Delba, all budget funds in the republic go to pay for electricity from Russia. The official said the day before that Abkhazia will not receive 1.8 billion rubles in Russian financial aid.

Without the financial support that Abkhazia received from Russia, it will be extremely difficult to maintain the situation, said Acting President Badra Gunba.

Recently, Abkhazia refused to enter into an economic agreement with Russia. The parliament of the self-proclaimed republic voted against ratifying the agreement with the Russian Federation on investments. Earlier, its possible adoption caused mass protests. This agreement was the subject of harsh criticism from the opposition. Many residents feared that the arrival of Russian business in the unrecognized republic would leave them without work.
