The so-called Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has sentenced Georgian citizen Kakhaber Amiranashvili to 13 years and six months in prison *in absentia*. Russian media reported the news, citing the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Azerbaijan has enacted an amnesty law marking the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty. This measure will affect approximately 20,000 people and will be implemented within four months.
According to the authorities, the amnesty applies to participants in the Karabakh conflict, family members of those killed or missing in these conflicts, women, individuals over 60, and minors at the time of the crime, as well as those who committed minor public-risk crimes.
It should be noted that in 2024, human rights activists reported an increase in the number of political prisoners in Azerbaijan, exceeding 300. In October 2025, the Union for Freedom of Political Prisoners in Azerbaijan published a list of 392 names. The authorities deny the existence of political prisoners in the country.
