Four people have been arrested in Dagestan on charges of planning an explosion

Four residents of Buynaksk have been remanded in custody by the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala. They are suspected of plotting a terrorist attack – the bombing of the district police department building.

Investigators allege that the detainees, acting in concert, intended to blow up the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in the Buynaksky District. A criminal case has been opened against them under articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for attempted murder of law enforcement officers (Part 1 of Article 30 and Article 317 of the Criminal Code) and illegal manufacture of explosive devices (Part 2 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code).

In July, security forces detained a teenager allegedly planning a terrorist attack in Buynaksk. According to investigators, in March, a 16-year-old resident of the republic planned a terrorist attack near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building. It was reported that the teenager took a homemade explosive device from a pre-determined location, but was unable to complete his criminal intent and was detained.
