Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk's visit to Armenia took place without a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This, as noted by the Armenian newspaper Past and several experts, indicates growing tensions in relations between Moscow and Yerevan.
The name of three-time Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling Buvaisar Saitiev will be given to one of the streets in the Akhmatovsky district of Grozny. Recently, the ethnic Chechen was buried in Dagestan.
In addition, the republican wrestling center in the capital of Chechnya, which will open in the near future, will also be named after Saitiev. This decision was made personally by Ramzan Kadyrov "in order to pay tribute to the deep respect of an outstanding personality and athlete who became a symbol for an entire generation of wrestlers."
"Buvaisar Saitiev was a role model and a guide for our youth. Many guys from the new generation of athletes came to sports precisely because he inspired them," said Grozny Mayor Khas-Magomed Kadyrov.
Buvaisar Saitiev died in Moscow on March 2. He was reported to have fallen from the window of his third-floor apartment while doing chores. The athlete was buried in the village of Novokuli in Dagestan.
