Official in Georgia stuffed a stack of ballots during parliamentary elections

During the parliamentary elections in Georgia in Marneuli, an attempt was recorded to stuff several ballots into the ballot box at once. As a result, voting was abolished at polling station No. 69, the country's Central Election Commission reported.

"The voting process was stopped at the polling station. The district commission immediately convened a meeting, and the results of this polling station were declared invalid," said Natia Ioseliani, press speaker for the Central Election Commission of Georgia.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the stuffing. Social media users identified the man with the stack of ballots as a local official - the deputy chairman of the Marneuli City Council.

The turnout in the parliamentary elections in Georgia as of 17:00 was 50.6%. Such a turnout could be a record in recent years.
