In Georgia, the salaries of leading employees of the CEC were increased by 20%
The monthly salaries of the administration of the Central Election Committee of Georgia increased by more than 20%. This was reported by Mtavari TV channel.

Thus, according to the resolution of December 30, 2024, the Chairman of the CEC, Georgy Kalandarishvili, now receives 12,410 GEL, which is equivalent to approximately $4,400. The salary of the ego-zam is 11,534 GEL, the secretary of the Central Election Committee - 11,388, and 10 members of the commission - 9,928 GEL each.

In addition, let us remind you that from 2025 the salaries of Georgian parliamentarians and members of the government will almost double. Thus, the salary of an ordinary deputy will be 8,250 GEL, the speaker of the parliament - 10,000, the prime minister - 13,300, the minister - 11,305.

For more than two months, large-scale protest actions have been ongoing in Georgia, which began after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections, in which the Georgian Dream party officially won the majority of votes. The opposition and its supporters claim mass falsifications and do not recognize the voting results. One of the key demands of the protesters is to hold new elections under the conditions of an independent administration.

The fifth president of Georgia, in turn, refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the new government and his successor, Mikhail Kavelashvili, elected by the ruling party.

OSCE/ODIHR observers in their final report on the parliamentary elections in Georgia pointed out numerous violations both during the pre-election campaign and on the day of voting.
