Police in Georgia disperse night protests again
At night in Tbilisi, police dispersed protesters using water cannons and tear gas. This is the first rally dispersal in three days.
During the action, law enforcement officers detained 48 people for disobeying a lawful police order and petty hooliganism, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Demonstrators threw firecrackers at security forces.
Protests against the government's decision to freeze negotiations on Georgia's accession to the EU until the end of 2028 have been ongoing in Tbilisi for the tenth day. The participants are supported by many public and political figures, intellectuals, and business representatives.
