It is the authorities of Ingushetia—not local residents—who bear responsibility for the ongoing sewage pollution of the Sunzha River. This conclusion was reached by the Prosecutor’s Office, which, for the first time, detailed the history of the long-standing dispute.
A criminal case is under investigation in Ingushetia against four former Interior Ministry officers accused of beating a detainee. The incident occurred in Nazran and resulted in the hospitalization of the 28-year-old driver with a ruptured kidney.
According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Ingushetia, after his arrest, the man was taken to the police station, where he sustained bodily injuries. All four officers, aged between 24 and 33, have been dismissed. They are accused of abuse of office.
It should be noted that this is not the only case of law enforcement officers being accused of crimes in Ingushetia. In 2025, a former detective was arrested in a drug-planting case, four Interior Ministry officers from Malgobek were charged with torture and bribery, and Center E officers were detained on extortion charges.
