In Ingushetia, authorities have limited trade markups on goods to 10%

In the run-up to the New Year holidays, Ingushetia authorities have tightened price controls on food and essential goods. Head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, announced daily inspections and a limit on trade markups to 10%.

Large retail chains have joined the agreement, and prices have already been reduced on some products, such as eggs and vegetables. These measures come amid high poverty and unemployment in the region.

Ingushetia is characterized by low socioeconomic indicators. According to Rosstat, more than a quarter of the population (25.6%) does not have a minimum income, unemployment reached a record 24.4% in September 2025, and the average per capita income for the third quarter was only 26,800 rubles – the lowest in Russia.
