Suspects in the murder of a former official's son detained in Ingushetia

Law enforcement officers detained two brothers on suspicion of murdering Mustafa Katsiev, the son of the former head of the rural settlement of Ekazhevo in the Nazran district of Ingushetia, Magomed-Bashir Katsiev. A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The suspects are 30 and 29 years old, and they confessed to the crime.

Mustafa Katsiev was killed the previous evening as a result of a conflict over property rights to a plot of land. According to media reports, he was attacked by three people, one of whom hit him in the face with his head. After that, the victim fired several times from a traumatic pistol in the direction of the attackers. According to the Investigative Committee, they fired at least five shots in response, which led to Katsiev's death.

The media writes that the conflict arose between Katsiev and the Gagiyev family, who live in Ekazhevo. The deceased was also one of the founders of the Ingushetia Night Volleyball League.
