In Karachay-Cherkessia, athletes who did not stand up during the Russian anthem were fined
Administrative cases were opened against six residents of Karachay-Cherkessia for refusing to stand up during the Russian anthem. This happened during a ceremony at a sports competition in Cherkessk.
 
The police drew up reports under Article 17.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses - violation of the procedure for the official use of state symbols of Russia. The maximum penalty under the article is a fine of up to 3 thousand rubles.
 
“An explanatory conversation was held with the offenders about preventing such cases,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
 
In July 2024, during the performance of the Russian anthem at School No. 33 in Nalchik, eight parents of students did not stand up from their seats. Some children covered their ears. Later, the magistrate's court fined the citizens 3 thousand rubles.
